Inductle is in early access for PerfectSharp+ members, so everybody who plays is signed in to an account. The account, the membership, sign-in and the supporters list are described in full in the Perfect Sharp privacy notice at perfectsharp.games/privacy.php, which applies here. This page covers what Inductle itself records.

What is recorded when you play

When you load the page we record an anonymous event with the time, the country your connection is in, a non-reversible fingerprint (made from your IP address and browser family with a secret that rotates every 90 days), and a broad category for where you arrived from. For every puzzle play we record the date of the puzzle, when you started and finished, how long you took, how many squares you revealed, whether you solved it, and the random token your browser holds (below). We also count a short list of things players do, such as sharing a result. We look at this in aggregate to see whether the puzzles are working; we do not build a profile of you.

What stays on your device

Your streak, today's board and your finished days are stored in your browser's local storage, along with a short random token that identifies this browser. That token goes in any link you share, and if you are signed in it is linked to your account so your history follows you between devices. Your finished days are also saved to your account, and each day's result (whether you solved it, your time, reveals, seal and score) is written to the shared account database so perfectsharp.games can show your day.

Cookies

One cookie, set when you sign in, holds your session. Playing sets nothing else, and there is no advertising cookie and no third-party tracking.

How long we keep it

Visit events are kept for at most 90 days. Puzzle play records are kept while the game runs, so we can track puzzle-by-puzzle difficulty over time. Your IP address is held only in a country-lookup cache, deleted after 30 days, and on the sign-in throttle for about two days. Account records are described in the Perfect Sharp notice.

Who it is shared with

Our server, backups and email run on Amazon Web Services (the server in London, the backups in Ireland). IP addresses are resolved to a country by ip-api.com. Payments are handled by Stripe, on perfectsharp.games. We do not share data with advertising or analytics providers.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to it being processed, or receive it in a portable form: write to hi@perfectsharp.games from the address your account is registered to. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
